Over the last few years, Bridget Scarr has developed a lot of interest in the new fields of virtual reality as well as augmented reality. She has focused on creating content for these new experiences which are unlike anything people have seen before. One of her current projects involves augmented reality. It uses this technology in order to completely immerse people in a historical setting where they can learn about the past in a novel and engaging way.
Scarr’s historical augmented reality project uses an app that shows the user landmarks and monuments from the past. They can engage with these structures and learn information about what happened at the location they’re based at and how they were built. The project is also about the real people in the past who participated in these events and built the monuments so that the user can really learn and understand them as an actual person who once lived.
An area that Bridget Scarr sees great promise in augmented and virtual realities is that of education. She says that this technology can make you feel like you literally teleported into a place. She says this affects you emotionally and will really drill home the lesson that the educational opportunity was built upon teaching. She’s very interested in exploring ideas in this field in the future through her company.
An app that Bridget would like to see developed but hasn’t yet is a really great wine app. She says that none of them so far get it right. She would like to see an app that delivers the worlds best wines to your door as well as a concierge who will help you pair food and wine together.
