Back in the year 2012, the former USA President Barack Obama created a policy advocating for the deferred action for particular undocumented young people that came to America as young children. But recently, there are extremist members of the GOP who have launched several fronts in attacking the DACA program. The group ensures that it provides undocumented youth who meet certain criteria, from being deported. The youth is provided with the social security number and also given an opportunity to work in the USA. The contract is for two years, which is renewable. The program also ensures that the young undocumented immigrant gets protection from deportation and also to issue the work permit.
Ken Paxton, the Texas Attorney General, has penned down a letter, addressing the Trump administration requesting the DACA program to get rescinded. The application is not to terminate the program abruptly but to have a plan to end it in phases. Those who have signed the letter are nine (9) attorney generals and a governor of the red states.
John Kelly, the known Secretary of Homeland Security, had a meeting with the members of the Hispanic Caucus. Kelly said that the program that protects 800,000 people is in jeopardy. The program is in its fifth year of the implementation and has brought massive benefits to the United States. The beneficiaries of the program mostly study or work or do both. The eligibility of joining the program is dependent on some rules like;
- You arrived in America before the age 16 years
- You were in the USA, physically, before June 15, 2012.
- You have continuously lived in the USA from June 2012

Every human being deserves fair treatment and justice despite the background and socioeconomic status. Lacey and Larkin have vowed to offer assistance, information, and guidance in the fight to ensure that DACA has managed to fight for a permanent solution to the immigrants.
